This is so fun once you learned the controls! Tried to get the 24 medal marathon thing, but my session timed out in the middle of it. I like everything about this game, except that huge ass tennis ball.
It made me age at least 40 years due to stress. I think it'd be good if the hitbox radius of it is reduced just by a few pixels. I fought against it so many times but finally got it: https://i.imgur.com/QSwQWsX.png EDIT: Got it again after a ton of practice!

Also it would be nice to have a inverted reverse turning, so pressing back and left would turn the car clockwise, like turning the wheel in real life.

Other than that it's a fantastic game with nice music!

A very cool puzzle platformer! Really liked the rope mechanics. The puzzles weren't too hard or easy, and it kept being fresh by introducing new mechanics each level. Although it would be nice to be able to jump with W, and reduce the time it takes for holding down E and R.

Seems like a quite cool game! I like the streamlined stylish graphics :)

Just a heads up, it does crash if you press space, and sometimes when you fall onto spikes.

Also, it'd be nice if the level reset itself if you fall off the map. It wasn't clear what happened the first time it happened to me, so I was just sitting there, thinking I passed the level.

Maybe it could be a good idea to have a door pop up when you jump down the hole in the menu level, making it work the same way as the rest of the game? It'd teach the player how to play immediately

Edit: It does seem to crash in a similar way on the itch version. I understood flipping the gravity and being able to fall off is intended, but it'd be good to indicate to the player that they've fallen off, adding a "Press any key to retry" would clear things up :)

I'd recommend trying to find what's causing it to crash on death, since currently you have to refresh the page and start all over again almost every time you die. It seems like there's an out of bounds array access when the player dies:

Uncaught RuntimeError: table index is out of bound.

No idea if it's of any help though

Falling off the map is not a bug, it's the main game mechanic. The gravity is flipped there and so is the jump.

It's actually been a while since I last played this, but you could check the itch.io version. https://afthen.itch.io/the-other-side-of-reality. It worked fine there, so I don't know why it crashes here.

But yeah I will fix the bugs eventually.

Nice game, finally beat it!
It has pretty cool upgrades, I especially like the grappling hook one :)

It'd be nice if you could move just a bit when attacking, just to be able to make small adjustments to your position (like very small barely moving). And it seems like the first bullet fired always goes horizontally, even if you press up+attack. There's also a slight delay before you can jump right after shooting, it sort of makes it feel like you aren't in control of the character.

Would also be cool if you could skip the boss dialogues once you've seen them once, it gets a bit repetitive. And also maybe reduce the amount of monsters you have to kill between the checkpoint and boss. (The grappling hook shortcut to the bat boss was nice though :))

To me it feels like the bat boss switches places a bit too quickly. It just becomes RNG if you can get enough shots at him before you get spammed to death. (Also maybe the player hitbox should be a bit smaller for enemy bullets and attacks, sometimes you're hit even if the bullet doesn't look like it's hitting).

Those aren't really big issues, the game is absolutely beatable, and managing to defeat bosses feels awesome!

The graphics are super nice too, and I like the humor. Great job all around!

I would have done it if the code wasn't such a mess already, hahahahah. Would need to separate the legs from the body or something akin to that o:

I can't really do anything now until the money goes into the positive again.

That seems to also cap the high score for total money gained at the integer overflow limit.
